Skin care treatments are available for every skin type you can think of and it's easy to get lost in this "miracle cure" or that "new life saver". One thing that will remain consistent regardless of your unique circumstances is that a good cleanser is a must. These cleansers are your first step in clearing your skin and pores and preparing it for the next steps in your routine. It is important to note here that not all skin cleansers are equally effective, especially when you consider skin type. A heavy cream cleanser is not going to be good to use if you have a skin type that is oily. A clay based cleanser can cause excessively dry skin since they can remove the skin's oil and hydration. An excellent skin cleanser will clear the skin without introducing imbalances.

Using Skin Toner

Skin toners are also sometimes referred to as astringents. The point of using skin toner is to clean the skin more aggressively and helping to remove dead cells, makeup and debris that was missed by your cleanser. Having a good skin toner in your skin care regimen can help you avoid breakouts and open up the skin so that it is better prepared to accept hydration and nourishment. Don't forget however is that these products can be harsher on the skin than a cleanser. They also can make the skin dry and to irritate those with sensitive skin. Choosing a skin care product doesn't use alcohol here is vitally important, especially for dry skin treatment or skin that easily irritates.

Moisturizers

The third important part of any skin careprogram is an effective moisturizer. Truly effective skin moisturizers contain emollients, antioxidants, nutrients and oils. As with skin cleansers and skin toner, moisturizer should take into account your own skin type. Moisturizers are usually categorized by weight with the lightweight products having less oil and compounds that can feel "excessive" on the skin. As mentioned above a heavy moisturizer, which is great for those with a dry skin type, is probably not wise to use on an oily skin surface since this may simply make matters worse.
